SAFEchild

SAFEchild, an acronym for Stop Abuse For Every Child, is the only agency in Wake County that provides child abuse prevention and intervention services directly to families. SAFEchild helps more than 900 families and nearly 7,000 children each year.

JLR Impact

JLR established SAFEchild as part of a long-standing commitment to protect children. Since its inception in 1991, SAFEchild has received financial and volunteer support from JLR. During the past 10 years, the League has contributed more than $1 million to SAFEchild and has provided a lead gift of $260,000 to kick off the SAFEchild Comes Home campaign.

JLR volunteers mentor new mothers, present the “Funny Tummy Feelings” abuse prevention program to Wake County elementary school children, and care for children while their parents participate in a variety of SAFEchild programs. League members have worked more than 15,000 hours with SAFEchild, including our annual commitment to the Angel Tree.
