Whether you’ve relocated for work, family, school, or a new adventure, the Junior League of Raleigh is ready to welcome you into a community of women who share your passion for leadership, volunteerism, and meaningful community impact.
As a member of the Association of Junior Leagues International (AJLI), we proudly welcome transfer members from Junior Leagues across the United States, Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, France, and Kenya.

At the Junior League of Raleigh, we want every transfer member to feel welcomed, connected, and supported from day one.
Whether you’ve been in the League for two years or twenty, your experience, leadership, and perspective are valuable, and we’re excited to help you continue making an impact in Wake County.
How to Transfer
Transferring your membership is simple.
Step 1
Notify your current Junior League that you’d like to transfer your membership to the Junior League of Raleigh. Your current League will initiate the transfer process and submit the necessary paperwork to AJLI.
Step 2
Once your transfer has been received, fill out the Reinstatement Form, and our Membership team will contact you to welcome you and guide you through the next steps.
Step 3
Get connected! We’ll help you learn about the League, explore placement opportunities, meet fellow members, and begin building relationships within your new League community.
What to Expect
We know moving to a new city can feel overwhelming.
Our goal is to make joining the Junior League of Raleigh one of the easiest parts of your transition.
As a transfer member, you’ll have opportunities to:
- Meet League leadership and fellow members.
- Learn about our community partnerships and signature events.
- Explore volunteer placements that match your interests and experience.
- Attend networking, social, and fellowship events.
- Continue your leadership journey without missing a step.
- Become part of a welcoming community committed to service and leadership.
You’ll quickly discover that while every League has its own traditions, the mission that connects us all remains the same.
Active Transfer Members
If you’re transferring as an Active Member, your first placement year will typically be with Team Transfer.
This placement is designed to help you become familiar with the Junior League of Raleigh while introducing you to our community partnerships, League structure, volunteer opportunities, and annual events.
Throughout the year, you’ll have opportunities to:
- Learn about the League’s committees and councils.
- Attend social and networking events.
- Connect with fellow transfer members and League leaders.
- Explore placements for future League years.
- Discover where your interests and talents can make the greatest impact.
Our goal is to help you feel at home as quickly as possible.
Sustaining Members
If you’re transferring as a Sustaining Member, we’ll connect you with our Sustaining Committee and introduce you to the many opportunities available to remain engaged with the League.
Whether you enjoy volunteering, attending social events, mentoring members, or reconnecting with fellow Sustainers, there are many ways to stay involved and continue your League journey.

Moving to Raleigh may bring a new home, a new job, or a new chapter in life.
It can also bring new friendships.
Many of our members first connected through the Junior League after relocating to the Triangle. Today, those introductions have grown into lifelong friendships, professional networks, volunteer partnerships, and leadership opportunities.
