Strong Family Foundations

Team Strong Family Foundations works with Wake County families to ensure safe and stable home environments and to enhance their abilities to become independent, successful and engaged members of our community.

The Green Chair Project
The purpose of The Green Chair Project is to reuse household furnishings to renew the lives of participants who are recovering after homelessness, crisis or disaster.

SAFEChild
This group provides volunteers to support SAFEchild (“Stop Abuse For Every Child,” a JLR signature project), an organization committed to eliminating child abuse in Wake County by helping families create nurturing environments free from abuse and neglect. SAFEchild is one of the League’s most impactful success stories and this team continues our tradition of support.

StepUP Ministry
StepUp is an interfaith community program that partners with adults and children in the shared goal of stable lives through jobs and life skills training. StepUp promotes stable jobs, stable homes and stable families. League volunteers implement children’s programs and activities such as relationship development, goal setting, financial literacy, personal health, decision-making skills and community awareness to children whose parents participate in the training program at StepUp Ministry. The overall objectives of the children’s program are designed to teach resiliency, promote school advocacy, and empower children to be their best. Ages range from infant to 18 years
