BREAST CANCER AWARENESS
Early Detection Saves Lives
A Junior League of Raleigh Signature Community Impact Campaign
One appointment.
Twenty minutes.
One life changed.
The Junior League of Raleigh is proud to partner with UNC Rex Mobile Mammography to bring free 3D screening mammograms directly to our community.
As one of the League’s Signature Community Impact Campaigns, Early Detection Saves Lives is focused on increasing access to preventive health care and encouraging women to prioritize their health through early detection.
Breast cancer is most treatable when it’s found early, and regular screening mammograms remain one of the most effective tools for detecting breast cancer before symptoms appear. By bringing mobile mammography into the community, we’re helping remove barriers to care and making it easier for eligible women to receive this important screening.
UNC Rex’s mobile program exists to expand access to breast cancer screening and improve health equity across the region.

Why It Matters
Twenty Minutes Can Make a Difference
Early detection saves lives.
For many women, finding time for preventive health care can be difficult. Mobile mammography helps remove barriers by bringing convenient, high-quality breast cancer screening directly into the community.
A screening mammogram typically takes about 20 minutes, but those few minutes can make a lifetime of difference. Early detection can improve treatment options and outcomes, making routine screenings an important part of maintaining your health.

Our Community Impact
Removing Barriers. Expanding Access. Empowering Women.
The Junior League of Raleigh believes meaningful community impact begins with understanding needs and helping create access to resources that can make a difference.
Through partnerships like UNC Rex Mobile Mammography, JLR helps expand access to preventive health care while encouraging women to prioritize their health.
This initiative also reflects the League’s broader commitment to bringing women, community organizations and resources together around issues that matter.
Together, we can make early detection more accessible and help save lives.
Walk With Team JLR
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer
Our commitment to breast cancer awareness continues beyond screening day.
The Junior League of Raleigh will come together as Team JLR for the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk.
This free community event brings together survivors, caregivers, families, health care professionals and supporters to celebrate hope, honor loved ones and raise awareness about the importance of early detection.
While the walk is not a Junior League fundraiser, it is a meaningful opportunity for our members, friends and supporters to stand together in support of those impacted by breast cancer.
