Long-term stability often begins with opportunity, skills, and support.
StepUp Ministry works with individuals and families seeking greater stability through employment, life-skills development, and a supportive community. Its programs are designed to help participants move toward stable jobs, stable homes, and stronger families.
Junior League of Raleigh members support that work by investing in the children and young people whose families participate in StepUp programs.
JLR in Action
JLR volunteers work with children from kindergarten through 12th grade, providing mentoring, academic support and opportunities to develop skills that can help prepare them for the future.

JLR’s work with StepUp gives young people opportunities to build relationships with caring adults, strengthen academic skills and explore subjects that can help prepare them for adulthood.

StepUp’s broader work recognizes that employment, financial stability, supportive relationships, and family well-being are deeply connected.
By focusing JLR’s volunteer service on children and teens, League members complement the work StepUp is doing with adults and help create a more comprehensive circle of support around participating families.
