HELPING HORSE
Creating Possibilities Through Therapeutic Riding
Helping Horse uses therapeutic horseback riding to support individuals with a range of physical, cognitive, and emotional needs.
Through riding, games, activities, and interaction with horses, participants have opportunities to develop physical skills, confidence, independence, and social connections.
Junior League of Raleigh members work alongside Helping Horse to support those experiences.
JLR in Action
JLR volunteers serve as horse leaders and side-walkers during therapeutic riding lessons, helping provide riders with support and encouragement. Members also help plan special events for children participating in the program.

More Than a Riding Lesson
Therapeutic riding can support physical development, confidence, social connection, and learning while giving participants an opportunity to build relationships with horses, volunteers, and one another.
For JLR members, Helping Horse offers a meaningful opportunity to serve directly alongside participants and see the impact of their volunteer commitment firsthand.
