The Junior League of Raleigh Hosts 37th Annual

A Shopping SPREE! Presented by First Citizens Bank

December 2-5

The premier shopping event of the holiday season moves to a new location – the Jim Graham Building at the NC State Fairgrounds.

Raleigh, NC | October 25: The Junior League of Raleigh’s (JLR) popular holiday tradition is back, offering a unique shopping experience while raising money for nonprofit programs in Wake County. A Shopping SPREE! will host dozens of regional and national exhibitors at the Jim Graham Building at the NC State Fairgrounds from December 2-5.

Throughout the four day event, shoppers can purchase the latest in fashion and home decor trends, specialty foods, unique gifts and holiday merchandise.

Safety is a Priority at SPREE!

The JLR is excited to welcome each of you back in person! COVID-19 has made crowds difficult to maneuver; however, we are taking additional measures to ensure the safety of all participants. First, we have implemented e-ticketing to limit contact. In addition, hand sanitizing stations will be located throughout the event.  To protect yourself and others,  masks are required for patrons over the age of two inside the Jim Graham Building. Masks must cover the mouth and nose at all times. In an effort to maintain indoor mask regulations, there will be no concessions for purchase this year. To ensure as much social distancing as possible, one-sided aisles and designated entry and exits will be utilized. Lastly, if you are not feeling well, please stay home. If you or someone you have direct contact with is not feeling well, please get tested before you visit SPREE!.

Bring Your Donations to SPREE!

Proceeds from A Shopping SPREE! help support the Junior League of Raleigh’s Center for Community Leadership and community projects throughout Wake County. Since 1930, the League has donated more than $5.5 million and more than 237,000 volunteer hours to programs and projects that impact youth in our community such as AventWest Children’s Mentoring, BackPack Buddies, Brentwood Boys & Girls Club, Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC, Helping Horse, Heritage Park Community Learning Center, Interact, SAFEchild and StepUp Ministry.

This year, realtor and JLR sustainer Cindy Poole Roberts has generously donated her moving truck to stuff with necessities for our JLR community partners! Shoppers are invited to donate non-perishable food items such as canned fruits, vegetables, meats, soups, cereal, pasta, personal hygiene items, and household goods. The truck will be parked at the entrance to the Jim Graham building to collect donations.

Special Events Get SPREE! Shoppers in the Holiday Spirit

The popular Merry Morning Shopping event kicks off SPREE! this year from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Thursday, December 2. The ever-popular silent auction is also back, running throughout SPREE! December 2 – 5.  You’ll have the chance to bid on phenomenal gifts that have been generously donated, with your contribution going towards the betterment of Wake County and surrounding communities to ensure the brightest future for coming generations. SPREE! Co-Captain Keli Smith says, “Your donation to A Shopping SPREE! silent auction is a donation to the mouths of children that wouldn’t eat on the weekend otherwise, a donation to the furnishing of an apartment for a family struggling to get back on their feet, a donation to a woman in need, a donation to clothe a human being and a donation to help a child with homework and school supplies.”

A Shopping SPREE! Silent Auction: Friday, November 19  Sunday, December 5

Last year, amidst COVID-19, our online silent auction was able to raise more than $20,000 to support the League’s commitment to empower women and at-risk youth through educational and charitable initiatives. We would love to out do last year’s donations. The auction items will be on display online beginning November 19 and at A Shopping SPREE! beginning opening day. Text JLRSPREE21 to 76278 or visit //e.givesmart.com/events/mEu/i/ to preview the items included in the silent auction.
