The
Junior League of Raleigh has received national recognition for its
community impact through its strategic volunteer program. Since
the 2001 initiation of its target area, "Promising Youth: Changing
Lives Through the Power of Education," hundreds of trained League
volunteers are deployed into the community each year to assist local
non-profits with work that measurably impacts our area's youth.
Beginning each September, the Junior League places
its voluntee rs
with requesting agencies after an application and interview process.
Agencies serving the League's target area may contact the League
and asked to be considered for JLR Volunteer
Placement. All requests for volunteers should be made one
year in advance.
Th e
League also provides trained volunteers for fellow agencies for
non-profit Board Participation. Our
members provide valuable insight and experience that assist other
nonprofit boards in achieving their respective missions.
The League also provides a team of trained volunteers
that can make a "quick impact" for other non-profits in our target
area. Team Quick Impact assists local
agencies with short, one-time projects (mailings, invitation or
program assembly, etc), that can otherwise hamper an agency's office
staff and ability to focus on the day-to-day.
The League also offers annual community trainings
to local non-profits and publishes a list of these trainings at
the outset of each League year. Through Team Takin' Care of Business,
these trainings are offered in the areas of boardsmanship training,
strategic planning, and marketing. Team Takin' Care of Business
can also place a team of volunteers with requesting agencies for
volunteer assistance in these areas.
