Did you know that the Junior League of Raleigh is the only member of the Association of Junior Leagues International to host an Inaugural Ball?

Since 1933, every North Carolina Governor being inaugurated has selected the Junior League of Raleigh to host the Inaugural Ball honoring the newly elected Governor, First Lady and Council of State. Thanks to their generosity and the volunteer efforts of League members, the Junior League of Raleigh has been able to host the Ball as a fundraiser, earning much-needed proceeds to help support its community projects and programs in the focus area of promising youth.

Now, the Junior League of Raleigh kicks off plans for the 2009 North Carolina Governor’s Inaugural Ball by appointing four local women to chair this important community fundraiser: Rhonda Beatty, Carol Wagoner, Virginia Parker and Pat Wilkins.
