Association of Junior Leagues (AJLI) Awards

The Junior League of Raleigh received the 2009 JL Award for Fund Development from the Association of Junior Leagues International (AJLI) for its work at the Bargain Box, which has contributed more than $1 million to fund the League's community efforts.

The Junior League of Raleigh also received Honorable Mention for the JL Award for Membership Development for our innovative online voting program, which allows members to view photos and biographies of all candidates for elected positions, and receive an email confirmation once their vote is cast.

These awards were presented at the AJLI's 87th annual conference in Atlanta, which was attended by representatives from 293 Junior Leagues in the United States, Canada, Mexico and the United Kingdom. The 2009 JL Awards were underwritten by AJLI Board member, Gena Lovett, COO of Alexandra Investment Management.

An award recognizing a Sustaining member for her dedicated work with our League and other volunteer and community organizations

Virginia Parker

Sustainer Legacy Award
An award recognizing a Sustaining member for her exemplary work on a League fundraiser

Rose Finley

Team of the Year Award
An award recognizing a JLR team, in-League or community, for exceptional results

Inaugural Ball

Member of the Year Award
An award recognizing an Active member for dedicated service to the League who has gone above-and-beyond the typical parameters of her JLR “job” thereby serving as a role model and inspiration for other members.

This is the only award that a Board member can receive
