for Active Members:
Meetings

1.

Attend General Membership meetings and Small
Group meetings. (Three (3) absences are allowed)

Financial/Fund Raiser Obligations

Pay annual dues by April 1 each year (late
fee applies after April 20)

3.
|
Donate $100.00 worth of merchandise to the
Bargain Box during or before your designated quota month.
(Click here for Bargain Box specific
quota schedule) Note: Members taking a leave of absence (LOA) are exempt from their Bargain Box Quota.

4.
|
Purchase required number of A SHOPPING SPREE!
tickets and work a three-hour SPREE! shift. (Missed SPREE!
shifts must be made up with equivalent assignment at Bargain
Box or another venue; arrangements to be made within 30 days
of missed shift.)

Placement
|
5.
|
Fulfill your assigned placement requirements
by serving on a Community or in-League team. Complete appropriate
placement forms for the following League year by the spring
sign-up deadline determined by Placement Committee.

Privileges
|
6.
|
Privileges include the right to vote and hold
office; the right to propose prospective members; and the
privilege of transferring to any other league or becoming
a Non-Resident or Inter-League member if you move.

What
To Do When:
YOU COME TO LEAGUE MEETINGS... Attendance
is required at all membership meetings although you may miss up
to three (3) meetings if necessary. Check the Link for
meeting times and locations. Don't forget to bring your permanent
Name Badge to be scanned for meeting attendance! If you lose
your name badge, e-mail terri@jlraleigh.org
for a $5 replacement badge. If you miss a meeting, call your Team
Captain or Placement Advisor (for first year actives) for an update.
YOU HAVE A CHANGE IN NAME, ADDRESS, PHONE NUMBER or WORK INFORMATION... Update
your member profile found in the members' only section of the
website.
YOU NEED TO REQUEST A CHANGE
IN STATUS (RESIGNATION, REINSTATEMENT, TRANSFER, ETC.)...
E-mail terri@jlraleigh.org
with your request. Please include your full name, current address
and phone number. If you request resignation after April 1, you
will owe dues for the following year.
YOU WISH TO REQUEST A SABBATICAL
OR LEAVE OF ABSENCE... YOU WISH TO REQUEST A SABBATICAL OR LEAVE OF ABSENCE... Complete the Leave Request
Form found by clicking here and either deliver it to League Headquarters at
4020 Barrett Drive, Ste 104, Raleigh, NC 27609. Or you may fax it
to 919-787-9615. You will be notified by mail once your leave or sabbatical
is approved. ( Remember that you are still responsible for JLR Dues even
when you are on leave or sabbatical.) If you have any questions, please

at League Headquarters (787-7480) during office hours to schedule use of a meeting
area or view the calendar in the members section of the website to see if desired
space is available and to send Lori an e-mail directly.
YOU ARE FILLING OUT YOUR TAX
RETURNS... Use as deductions (to the extent allowed by
law) initiation fees, League dues, merchandise donated to the
Bargain Box and mileage costs to community placement.
YOUR BARGAIN BOX QUOTA IS DUE... Refer
to the guidelines listed within the Bargain Box Quota.
***INCLEMENT
WEATHER POLICY*** In case of
inclement weather, the Junior League of Raleigh's voicemail 787-1103
will contain information regarding closings of Headquarters and
the Bargain Box as well as canceled membership meetings. In most
cases, if the Wake County Public Schools are closed, League functions
will also be rescheduled. For information on a specific committee
meeting, please call the appropriate team captain.
TEAM
OVERACTIVE:
Team Overactive is for the long-time experienced active member who
needs flexibility from league placement requirements. She will choose
her own League and/or community involvement and will have all the
privileges of active membership. You must be an active member in
good standing for a total of seven or more years, excluding leaves
and sabbaticals, in a Junior League. Other eligibility terms apply.
Please contact the Team Placement captain for more details.
Overactive Status:

Overactive status is available for the experienced
Active member who desires reprieve from placement requirements.
She is encouraged to seek community involvement within the
targeted area and will have all the privileges of Active membership.
|

2.
|
To be eligible, she must have been an Active
member in good standing for a total of seven or more years
in a Junior League, excluding up to 1 year of leave and sabbaticals;
have never been on probation; fulfill all other minimum standards;
and request this option annually at the Spring Placement sign-up.
|
